“From the get go, the team at 48 Studio made us feel comfortable. It wasn’t a ‘meeting’ when we discussed details, it was more of a natural conversation. They wanted to get to know who my now-wife and I were to better understand the story they wanted to tell. Wedding Photos look amazing! The timing of the pictures told a story and it was nice to re-live that. Thank you 48 Studio.” – Quyen & Nathanlie
We happened to know the groom’s father before and we kept in touch ever since. But we couldn’t believe that 8 months before the wedding, we got a phone call from the charming gentleman, said in July he would come to attend his son’s wedding so he wanted to meet up and introduce us to Quyen. The connection kicked in the moment we met. 48 Studio just couldn’t resist the spark of chemistry between Quyen & Nathalie, the couple was so affectionate and caring. You can tell the team was excited to document the big day coming!
We have to admit that the bride and groom were genius when they decided to settle with VanDusen Botanical Garden in Vancouver, BC at the first place. Honestly, we couldn’t think of a more beautiful venue for a wedding. The architecture is stunning and it offers picturesque views of Livingstone Lake and Woodland Garden. Of course, we couldn’t forget the lawn area close to the Flower Hall, it is a lovely place for the ceremony, with a delicate touch of decoration, our lovebird definitely turned the place into a fairytale wedding. 48 Studio absolutely suggests VanDusen Botanical Garden, you should check their website, you will see why we fall in love with the them!
The early morning hours of wedding day are usually the most exciting times. All of those hours spent caused thrilling feelings arise, and it was probably during the getting ready stage that the differences are most apparent, our lovebirds got to fully experience all of them. That was our favorite time as wedding photographers since we got to be present and captured the the enchanting minutes as both of them got ready, the team believe it’d be lovely for them both to be able to reflect on their feelings, thoughts on this very special day! Later, we waited for the wedding Limousine to drive around Vancouver Downtown. Quyen wanted to drop off at Queen Elizabeth Park first for photos with groomsmen and he did ask us to take photos of him and his bride walking down West 37th Ave later ’cause it was the street they went to when they first dated. Meanwhile, Nathalie especially requested to have some photos with her dad in the vintage blue car, we were told it was very special to both of them since the bride spent her childhood most of the time with it. The result? The photos turned out to be flawless!
From the very beginning, the team did notice the groom was into details, little things like engraving love pocket watch, cravat pin has his surname, even his house is decorated with hundreds of polaroids and written note for his wife. So we were not surprised to see they did all the wedding decor themselves to add personality to the venue’s stunning existing features. During the wedding, there was never a delay in service, and the personnel made the newlyweds feel special the whole night! Everything was perfect on the day. People kept commenting how incredible the food was and the service was impeccable! The chefs from Miku Restaurant was very professional and caring. They served traditional Japanese flavours and techniques are combined with local, west coast elements to create a truly unique dining experience enjoyed by the guests alike, if you want to try out their dishes, visit their place which is located on West Hastings St in Coal Harbour, Vancouver. It was amazing to be able to have the ceremony at the same place as the reception and we loved every minute of it. If you wonder what are our favorite moments of the day, we’d say one time when the groom got emotional while he was writing the vow and the time the bride’s sister was giving a speech but got distracted by her little boy who was so into biting her dress! It is these small moments make the wedding memorable and stand out from any wedding.
