The wedding happened at Hart House, a beautiful Heritage Mansion, overlooking Deer Lake in Burnaby. Since opening as a restaurant and wedding venue for 30 years, it’s been the location of unforgettable ceremonies. We have to say the bride and groom were dead-drop gorgeous, 48 Studio was honored to capture this truly beautiful couple showing their personalities at their small and intimate celebration of their love.
48 Studio met Twinky and Kevin on a lovely day, often, the men are uninterested in the taking photos part. Kevin, on the other hand, was gentle and loving, since he recognized the significance of the event, he went through all the details with us from the very beginning. The soon-to-be-married couple created a feeling of joy in the air that was hard to shake off. The meeting was lovely, we couldn’t be more excited to document their wedding.
When searching for an outdoor wedding venue with gorgeous grounds for their destination wedding. Twinky and Kevin fell in love with Hart House-Deer Lake. The look and feel of it was essential to their laid-back theme. Natural yet modern with a hint of classical, this well-curated wedding relied on the help of a few ‘friendors’ to become a reality and was planned around the availability of their most-trusted vendors. We must admit the place is one of most magnificent places among BC. It was not our first time at the venue, however, Kevin and Twinky’s wedding ceremony was a new and unforgettable trip that enables us to take gorgeous shots and express their love story in a unique and memorable manner.
The vitality and excitement of the reception impressed us as the day progressed. The wedding party and guests were amazing, their enthusiasm and eagerness perfectly highlighting the joyous occasion. The reception was a brilliant display of color, with flower arrangements and table settings that provided an air of elegance and refinement to the ceremony. The love story of the couple was captured against the gorgeous background of the view of Deer Lake. Every moment, from the bride walking down the aisle with her dad to throwing bouquet was all picture-perfect opportunities. As photographers, we were able to capture the natural beauty of the Hart House and its surroundings, as well as the couple’s love and joy on their special day.
Unique and exhilarating, Kevin and Twinky knew it was their chance to do something different and create a once-in-a-lifetime memory for them and their loved ones by deciding to celebrate the wedding there. Before the ceremony began, our photographers had the opportunity to talk to the bride’s dad and the groom’s father.“Like father, like daughter”, Twinky must heirs all the cheerful and bright characters from her beloved parent. They were not only kind but welcoming toward all the guests by making everyone feel involved. Super friendly & kind gentlemen. As the pair met for the first time, we couldn’t take our eyes off them. The crowd were in tears listening to their vow under the witness of a lovely lady-Ms L. Twinky was gorgeous in white designed by Minlady Bridal while Kevin was brilliantly in tuxedo by Tiptop Tailor. One look at these heart-warming “I do’s” just may inspire you to tell your love story in your own unique way. The photos became more personal and expressive when the light and the lake view texture were included in the shoot.
After the event, the team went to photograph family and friends before moving on to the bride and groom portraits! The party carried on inside the cottage, however, the team was following the bride to capture such a moving moment with Twinky and Kevin’s parents. Giving jewelry was an asian tradition, the simple thing but means the world to the bride, the jewelry itself symbolized the love and adoration from the parents for their daughter in law. It is these small moments make the wedding memorable and stand out from any wedding.
